About Charlotte

Wellness and balance play a large role in my life, allowing me to create an abundance of joy and strength, which at times in my life I didn’t know was possible.

I was called to this work through my own personal experience of how the subconscious mind can drive human behaviour in ways which can damage us beyond what we might first realise. In my early 20’s after a series of traumatic events I experienced the onset of anxiety and depression, which shortly led onto a chronic pain condition which I still have to take steps to manage now, nearly 10 years on.

This journey, from a feeling of deep desperation and despair to eventual balance and whole health, taught me just how powerful the human mind can be, and how our innermost beliefs can physically manifest as a way to get our attention. Through working on my own symptoms with many therapists, counsellors, hypnotherapists, life coaches and physical therapists I have learned so much both personally and professionally.

My Counselling & Hypnotherapy training has built on skills and knowledge from this chapter of my life, and connected me to what I feel is my calling; to help others along their own journey through difficult chapters of their lives, and to use the deep compassion that is inside me for the challenges many of us face during the human experience.

For many people, modern living has stretched the human stress response in ways it was not designed for, and therefore learning to combat the effects of this has become an essential life skill. Chronic stress in particular affects us all in individual ways, and can surface as strange and unexpected experiences, affecting our mind, body and spirit. For almost all of my clients, alongside our core focus, we will look at developing tools to improve our response to modern living.

It is my belief that we must all make our own paths to healing and growth, which work for us; no one person has all the right answers for us. I make it my personal mission to help others find their unique way towards overcoming obstacles and creating better lives for themselves.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a creative but practical therapeutic treatment to engage in, because its goal is to help you unlock your own potential for change, giving you tools and guiding you towards your own inner resources so you can keep on building long after we have embarked on our journey together.

I am a member of the National Council of Hypnotherapy (NCH), which means alongside following a professional code of ethics, I also have a duty bound commitment to Continued Professional Development and therefore my training is updated regularly as part of my membership.

Alongside my professional accreditations I also have a personal Interest in mindfulness and have taken various courses such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Compassionate Living (MBCR) which have informed parts of my practice.

It is with compassion and kindness that I wish you a nourishing life that brings you all that you desire. If you think I might be the right therapist for you, book in a call and I will welcome you warmly.
